Milestone: Romeo Foundation Recognized as a 501(c)(3) Nonprofit
Every credible foundation begins with the paperwork that makes trust possible. As of February 17, 2026, the Romeo Community Housing Initiative Foundation is officially recognized as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit.
What this milestone means
Our 501(c)(3) determination is effective February 17, 2026, and we have been assigned our federal Employer Identification Number (EIN 41-4327332). In plain terms: contributions to the foundation may be tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law, and we are now eligible to pursue the grants and institutional funding our housing model will depend on.
An honest note on where we are
This is a starting line, not a finish line. We do not yet own land, hold financing, or have completed homes — and we are careful never to imply otherwise. What this recognition gives us is the legal and financial foundation to do the work ahead the right way: transparently, and accountable to the families and funders who believe in the mission.
