About the Project

Research Mission, Editorial Standards, and Interpretive Framework

The Library of Remembering is a seven-book scholarly exploration of Gnostic cosmology, published by Romeo Community Housing Initiative Foundation.

The Mission

The Library of Remembering is a comprehensive scholarly work that investigates the Gnostic textual tradition through a specific interpretive lens: the thesis of intentional multiple descent. Rather than treating Sophia’s cosmological act as a simple “fall” or mistake, this project tests the hypothesis that what appears as error at one level may function as deliberate seeding, infiltration, and preparation for awakening at another.

This thesis is argued forcefully but honestly. It is always identified as the project’s central interpretive synthesis (evidence class S), never misrepresented as universal ancient doctrine. Where the ancient sources contradict the thesis, those contradictions are presented openly.

The work draws on the full surviving corpus of Gnostic primary texts — the Nag Hammadi Library, the Berlin Codex, the Askew Codex (Pistis Sophia), the Bruce Codex (Books of Jeu), and the heresiological witnesses (Irenaeus, Hippolytus, Epiphanius, and others) — while maintaining rigorous distinctions between primary evidence, scholarly reconstruction, comparative interpretation, and the project’s own synthesis.

Editorial Truth Standard

No Fabrication

No fabricated quotations, manuscript references, page numbers, Coptic spellings, Greek etymologies, scholarly consensus, or bibliographic entries.

Copyright Respect

Short passages quoted from modern translations with proper citation; otherwise summarized. Public-domain translations preferred.

Evidence Tagging

Every significant claim tagged with one of six evidence classes: P1 (primary explicit), P2 (convergent), H (reconstruction), C (comparative), S (synthesis), U (uncertain).

Source Fidelity

Where multiple manuscript versions exist, they are compared rather than harmonized. Heresiological witnesses are labeled as polemical, never treated as neutral.

Honest Synthesis

The intentional-descent thesis is argued in its strongest form and then tested against contrary evidence.

Practice Safety

Contemplative practices include grounding cautions. Modern reconstructions are clearly labeled. No claims of guaranteed supernatural contact.
