Mission & Values

Our commitment to Colorado families and sustainable communities

Our Mission

Romeo Community Housing Initiative Foundation builds self-sufficient, sustainable, renewable energy-powered affordable housing communities that support family stability, environmental responsibility, and economic dignity for Colorado families.

We believe that housing is a fundamental human right and a critical foundation for family stability. By creating communities designed with environmental responsibility and family support at their core, we're addressing one of Colorado's greatest challenges: the shortage of affordable housing for working families.

Our model is built around the Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) program. We design voucher-ready communities — purpose-built homes that welcome families holding Section 8 vouchers — so that assistance families already qualify for finally becomes an actual place to live. It's an approach that pairs a stable, proven funding stream with dignified homes.

Our approach is comprehensive, integrating renewable energy independence, community wellness programs, and pathways to economic opportunity with safe, dignified, affordable homes. We're beginning in the Pueblo, Colorado area and expanding into rural Colorado counties — with a long-term vision of taking this model nationwide. Every Romeo Foundation community is designed to be a place where families can thrive across generations.

Our Approach

How we're different

Comprehensive Planning

We don't just build homes—we design complete communities that integrate housing, renewable energy, family services, and economic opportunity.

Sustainable by Design

Environmental responsibility and long-term sustainability are built into every aspect of our communities, reducing costs and protecting families.

Family-Centered

We center the needs and dignity of families in every decision, from community layout to program design to partnership development.

Section 8 Based, Starting in Pueblo

We build voucher-ready homes for Housing Choice Voucher (Section 8) families — beginning in the Pueblo, Colorado area, expanding into the next 10–20 rural areas — chosen by where Section 8 voucher need is greatest — and ultimately going nationwide. Our work focuses on communities where the need is greatest.
