How HabitatHalo works

How HabitatHalo works

47 AI modules across four capability groups

HabitatHalo sees, measures, feels, and advises — then grows into a research-grade conservation instrument as your needs expand.

A Romeo Foundation product. Perpetual Revenue Covenant: 100% of all HabitatHalo revenue is permanently directed to the Romeo Community Housing Initiative Foundation, which owns all associated intellectual property. Every purchase supports housing and community programs.

SpeciesLock™ — the right environment, locked to the animal

HabitatHalo scans the animal in the tank, loads the correct climate profile for that exact species, and locks it in — so the enclosure can’t be set to the wrong temperature, humidity or UV. The lock only releases when a keeper deliberately changes the species and re-scans.

1

Identify

The overhead camera and on-device AI recognize the species now living in the enclosure from its shape, markings and behavior.

2

Load the right profile

HabitatHalo pulls that species’ husbandry profile — basking and cool-side temperatures, humidity band, UV index, day/night cycle and safe limits.

3

Lock the settings

The correct set-points are applied and locked, so heat, UV, humidity and lighting can’t drift into the wrong range for that animal.

4

Guard continuously

If a reading strays outside the locked species band, the system corrects it and alerts the keeper — wrong settings are prevented, not just reported.

5

Stay locked until species change

The profile stays locked until a keeper opens Change Species, confirms the new animal, and passes a re-scan — so nothing is changed by accident.

Locked until you change the species

To switch animals, a keeper opens "Change Species", confirms the new species, and runs a fresh AutoFit scan. Only then are the old locked set-points released and the new species’ profile applied and locked.

A safeguard, not a substitute

SpeciesLock reduces accidental mis-settings; it never replaces a keeper’s judgment or a veterinarian’s guidance. Every species profile is a proposed target pending professional veterinary review. HabitatHalo is never a medical device.

The four capability groups

Tap any group to bring up its full summary and every capability inside it.

Inside the Superior Care System (v4.0)

The twelve newest modules (36–47) were designed from real unmet needs keepers and veterinarians reported. Tap any module to bring up its full details. Animal-care thresholds are proposed and remain pending professional veterinary review.

Safety-first engineering

HabitatHalo is built on a layered hardware platform designed so that the animal’s core protections stay in force no matter what.

Independent safety layer

A dedicated safety microcontroller enforces critical limits and is designed so those protections cannot be overridden by software.

Capable host processor

A separate host processor runs the AI modules, sensing, and connectivity — kept distinct from the safety layer.

Expandable by design

A modular socket and cassette system lets a habitat gain new sensing and capabilities over time.
